The excitement surrounding the Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is only ramping up now that the movie is making some serious casting additions. The latest addition is Colin Farrell, who is likely going to be taking a rather different role than the one he’s played in HBO’s True Detective. The veteran actor will join a cast that already includes Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, and Alison Sudol according to Entertainment Weekly.
Farrell is set to play a wizard who encounters Newt Scamander (Redmayne) during his journey to study magical creatures in America. It should be pointed out that Farrell certainly hasn’t appeared in a ton of movies that are geared for the younger set. Just how he plays it will be interesting to watch unfold. The movie is definitely ramping up as the cast fills out and the flick gets ready for a Mid-December 2016 release.
