Agreed. Hollywood has becoe poisonous. I'm not going to say "Hollywood is shit". Of course they still make great stuff. But the hypocrisy is absurd. Polanski drugged a 13-year-old, and raped her in the ass. And they give this man an Oscar? And all the 'Hollywood incrowd' talks about what a great guy he is? Come on. It's never been more obvious that Hollywood, media and politics are all slippery tentacles of the same beast, writhing together to keep us (the people) sedate and controllable. Sorry, Hollywood. The illusion is over. You can't use that Hollywood magic anymore to hide what you really are.
"Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth."
This Oscar Wilde quote, in my opinion, perfectly describes 4chan, and especially /b/. It takes an anonymous random board to show you other people's true colors.
4chan is the true face of the internet. Nothing of value will be lost, but I'll still be a bit sad to see it go.
I would not be surprised if Jared Leto overall had more screentime than Hannibal Lecter in *The Silence of the Lambs* and yet nobody disputes his Oscar win.
I don't get this idea that we need enough screentime to actively judge a performance. Nobody needed more than 30 seconds of *Ghostbusters* trailers to call out Patty Tolan as a regressive stereotype, people are calling Tom Holland's *Spider-Man* the best of the bunch already with two scenes and a post-credit tease. You get what you get in a film to make an impression with your performance. If people didn't like Leto's Joker (and I very much loved it), it's ridiculous to claim they didn't give him a fair shot because he only had four scenes.
one thing that people have in common...we all have secrets. we all do or think things that we are ashamed of, or we feel others will judge us by.
we normally don't share this shit...for obvious reasons...allow me to paraphrase an Oscar Wilde quote.. "you want truth? give a man a mask."
Keeping secrets is a very lonely thing. It separates and divides you from other people. It can do some damage on your psyche and your personal relationships.
there is a price to be paid for shade.
but shit, if you're going to pay that price, do it right. feel me?
Okay it is a bad advice, you win with your fallony. I really don't want to bang my head in a wall for a person who indeed assumes a fukton of things without understanding a bit of what others and blames others. A wise man once said, everyone can talk, learn to listen. Anyways I listened you and retreat. You win, hey peeps give this guy an oscar. People my advice was a bad one, the guy just won an oscar, follow him. (Hint: he is number 1 on world leaderboard) 😋

Give this man a beer and an Oscar! Exactly exactly the reality. This reddit is nuts, you can't have any criticisms at all without people losing their minds. I don't understand what these people want to talk about on here, no spoilers, no opinions I guess just an endless worship fest.
Is that what you'd say if this was a cis man playing a cis woman? Well an imaginary, not real cis woman might look like Matt Damon with lipstick... How about an imaginary, not real teen-ager might look like Susan Sarandon? Let's give her an Oscar for such a brave, transformative role.
Idk, this dude seems legit crazy. At no point did he come off as "faking" it. Even if I tried, I don't think I could come off as THAT crazy.
If he is faking, give this man an Oscar.
I'd argue that what you do in on online medium like this -- when you have the cover of anonymity -- gives an even greater window into one's personality.
