After the incredible box office success of the recently released Furious 7, it comes as no surprise that there will be yet another installment to the Fast & Furious franchise.
Fans have been anxiously waiting to hear about the fate of their beloved franchise and breathed a sigh of relief when they found out they’ll soon be getting an eighth movie. Franchise star Vin Diesel, was all too happy to confirm officially that “Furious 8” was happening, and even shared its release date while he was at CinemaCon this week.
Diesel explained, “The date. I love telling you guys the date! #Furious8 will be yours to share with the world on April 14, 2017.”
Furious 7 just became the 51st movie to hit the $300 million mark domestically, and it already reached $1 billion in the global market last week. This means that it’s on track to become one of the highest globally grossing movies of all time. If Furious 8 can achieve sales anywhere near what Furious 7 has, it won’t be surprising to see the franchise expand even further.
